JAN VAN MUNSTER

*1939, Gorinchem, NL – †2024, Oost-Souburg, NLEnergy was at the centre of Jan van Munster’s artistic work. He was particularly fascinated by the unique, creative energy of the self: this exhibition is framed by three of his Brainwaves. One is permanently installed outside on the corner above the entrance to the Museum Wilhelm Morgner with RAUM SCHROTH facing the lively urban space, one shines at the back into the quiet square between the museum and the church and one glows inside the building. In the reduced form of the line with unique curvatures, they represent the brain activities of the artist himself, as recorded in an EEG.
