ENERGIE
Artroom Schroth in the Museum Wilhelm Morgner
Opening: 25 November, 5 pm
In synergy with the Centre for International Light Art Unna, we will present works from the Schroth Collection in a twin exhibition that deals with the fundamental subject of energy.
Universal, infinite and transformative, energy is the inevitable and decisive factor for everything – from the global climate to all aspects of everyday life in society to personal capacities. Life itself depends on energy and is at the same time manifesting and transforming energy in manifold ways.
Artists devote immense intellectual, creative and physical energy to their works. It is sometimes perceptible as a certain aura, but often also tangible: Insights into the intellectual behind, into the creative process, traces of production such as an energetic brushstroke, the particular inherent energies of material, composition, form or colour radiate. Contact with works of art provides new vigour.
With around 50 works from the Schroth Collection, the two-part exhibition at the Centre for International Light Art Unna and ARTROOM SCHROTH at the Museum Wilhelm Morgner, Soest, traces the special energy of works of art in creative processes, colour contrasts or material tensions, and also show positions that are concerned with exploring the theme of energy artistically in a very determined way.
