DESCRIPTION:Light and shadow are everyday phenomena that we usually take for granted and encounter without any special attention.\nTom Mosley and Antje Blumenstein draw our attention to them anew with their works.\nIn RAUM SCHROTH at the Museum Wilhelm Morgner\, in addition to luminous installations and wall objects\, works on paper will be shown\, which occupy a central place in both Antje Blumenstein’s and Tom Mosley’s oeuvre. Both use the light material for reduced sculptural works in which the shadow emphasises linear structures or blends into the space with painterly nuances.\nThe joint presentation testifies to the fascination for light that Tom Mosley (1927-2009) and Antje Blumenstein (*1967) share despite the generation gap\, to commonalities in their handling of the material and to individual solutions. \nWith the committed support of Antje Blumenstein and Nicholas Bodde\, Bremen\, who provides an overview of Tom Mosley’s work development with loans from his artistic estate\, “Viel Licht – Viel Schatten” is curated by Carl-Jürgen Schroth. \nA catalogue with an essay by Dr. Susannah Cremer-Bermbach will accompany the exhibition. \nVIEL LICHT – VIEL SCHATTEN\nTom Mosley + Antje Blumenstein \nARTROOM SCHROTH at the Museum Wilhelm Morgner\, Soest\n13 February to 8 May 2022\nOpening: Saturday\, 12 February\, 5 p.m. \nImage: Tom Mosley\, Schattenkasten 10-VIII\, 2006; Antje Blumenstein\, Lines P25\, 2017. © the artists\, VG Bild-Kunst Bonn\, 2021
