Schoen | Heiner Thiel | Günther Uecker | Ignacio Uriarte | Victor Vasarely | Pieter Vermeersch | Ulrich Wellmann | Martin Willing | Joan Witek \nWith an exhibition of carefully selected works from the SCHROTH COLLECTION\, the Stiftung Konzeptuelle Kunst (Conceptual Art Foundation) is part of the programme of the European Capital of Culture Veszprém-Balaton 2023. \nIn addition to paintings\, embossed prints\, kinetic sculptures\, light art\, site-specific installations\, murals and much more\, an outstanding ensemble from the Schroth Collection\, “CENTURY. idee bauhaus“\, is on display on the second floor of the museum. The project\, comprising 100 individual contemporary works\, was initiated by Matthias Seidel and Christiane Bail\, drj art projects\, and curated together with Simone Schimpf\, Sibylle Hoiman\, Frederik Schikowski and Frank F. Drewes. \nCarl-Jürgen Schroth – collector\, founder\, benefactor and chairman of the Stiftung Konzeptuelle Kunst – took Veszprém’s selection as European Capital of Culture as an opportunity to propose an exhibition cooperation with the related collection of László Vass\, who runs a private museum in Veszprém. The idea was received enthusiastically and refined in close cooperation. Thus\, this German-Hungarian cooperation now provides for a genuine exchange of collections for a limited period of time: While works from the Schroth Collection are on display at Veszprém from 20 January to 2 April 2023\, in return works from the Hungarian Vass Collection will be on display at the Museum Wilhelm Morgner with RAUM SCHROTH in Soest from 26 March to 11 June 2023.

DESCRIPTION: Over 20 years ago\, László Vass founded a museum for his outstanding collection of concrete\, constructive and minimal art at Veszprém\, Hungary. From the kinship with the Schroth Collection in Soest\, a special cooperation developed: While an exhibition of the Schroth Collection is on show at Veszprém’s art museum for the programme kick-off of the European Capital of Culture 2023 Veszprém-Balaton\, works from the Vass Collection are on display at the Museum Wilhelm Morgner with ARTROOM SCHROTH until 27 August 2023.\n \nThe collecting of the Budapest-based master shoemaker follows the ideal of bringing together as complete a cross-section as possible of the history and present of constructive and concrete art. In addition to international positions\, the exhibition in the ARTROOM SCHROTH\, Hans-Kaiser-Room and Foyer of the Museum Wilhelm Morgner focuses on Hungarian artists. This is where the roots of the Vass Collection have been since the 1970s. Neben einem Überblick über das Profil der herausragenden ungarischen Sammlung die László Vass seit den 19060er Jahren aufbaut\, werden die einzelnen Positionen aus mehreren Generationen konkreter\, konstruktiver und minimaler Kunst vorgestellt – unter ihnen Jenő Barcsay\, Dóra Maurer\, Imre Bak\, Istvan Haász und viele weitere. \nDie Teilnahmegebühr beträgt 6\,- € zzgl. 2\,- € Museumseintritt.
