SUMMARY:{:de}ENERGIE | ENERGY. Werke aus der Sammlung Schroth{:}{:en}ENERGIE / ENERGY. Works from the Schroth Collection{:}
DESCRIPTION:ENERGIE/ENERGY\nWorks from the Schroth Collection \nA cooperation between Stiftung Konzeptuelle Kunst (Conceptual Art Foundation) and Centre for International Light Art \n25 November 2023 – 25 February 2024 \n\n\n\n\nENERGY\nCentre for International Light Art \n\n\nENERGIE\nArtroom Schroth in the Museum Wilhelm Morgner\nOpening: 25 November\, 5 pm \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn synergy with the Centre for International Light Art Unna\, we will present works from the Schroth Collection in a twin exhibition that deals with the fundamental subject of energy.   \nUniversal\, infinite and transformative\, energy is the inevitable and decisive factor for everything – from the global climate to all aspects of everyday life in society to personal capacities. Life itself depends on energy and is at the same time manifesting and transforming energy in manifold ways. \nArtists devote immense intellectual\, creative and physical energy to their works. It is sometimes perceptible as a certain aura\, but often also tangible: Insights into the intellectual behind\, into the creative process\, traces of production such as an energetic brushstroke\, the particular inherent energies of material\, composition\, form or colour radiate. Contact with works of art provides new vigour. \nWith around 50 works from the Schroth Collection\, the two-part exhibition at the Centre for International Light Art Unna and ARTROOM SCHROTH at the Museum Wilhelm Morgner\, Soest\, traces the special energy of works of art in creative processes\, colour contrasts or material tensions\, and also show positions that are concerned with exploring the theme of energy artistically in a very determined way. \nENERGY in Unna includes works by\nBrent Birnbaum\, Spencer Finch\, IEPE\, molitor & kuzmin\, François Morellet\, Jan van Munster\, Annette Sauermann\, Bosse Sudenburg and Heiner Thiel. \nENERGIE in Soest includes works by\nChul Hyun Ahn\, Jill Baroff\, Brent Birnbaum\, Anne Blanchet\, Hellmut Bruch\, Christoph Dahlhausen\, Inge Dick\, András Gál\, Frank Gerritz\, Martin Gerwers\, Vanessa Henn\, IEPE\, Jo Kuhn\, Susan Morris\, Jan van Munster\, Yves Popet\, Anton Quiring\, Ivo Ringe\, Nelly Rudin\, Elisabeth Sonneck\, Julius Stahl\, Günther Uecker\, Ignacio Uriarte\, Peter Weber und Martin Willing \nCombination tickets for the double exhibition are available via the website of the International Light Art Centre. They also include the ticket for the journey between Unna and Soest with the Eurobahn train (approx. 20 min.). \n\nOpening in Soest on 25 November\, 5 pm\nGreeting: Mayor Dr. Eckhard Ruthemeyer\nIntroduction: Juliane Rogge MA\, Curator\, Stiftung Konzeptuelle Kunst \n\nFig.: molitor & kuzmin\, &\, 2010\, Stahl\, Neonröhre\, 16 x 22 x 10 cm\, Sammlung Schroth © molitor&kuzmin\, Foto: Ulli Sowa \nSponsored by\n
