They contrast sharply, do not compromise and appear to contain no colours. Yet they are full of colour! This is made recognisable by simple materials and processes: Wooden boards are broken, salt is ground, and charcoal is crushed in a mortar. These treatments reveal the inner structures. Intensified by the oil, light and movement provide insights into what is otherwise hidden. Like a formula of life, the elements shimmer in tiny dots of colour, of their spectral colours.
