Bright white, deep black, the lightest and the darkest. They contrast sharply, do not compromise and appear to contain no colours. Yet they are full of colour! This is made recognisable by simple materials and processes: Wooden boards are broken, salt is ground, and charcoal is crushed in a mortar. These treatments reveal the inner structures. Intensified by the oil, light and movement provide insights into what is otherwise hidden. Like a formula of life, the elements shimmer in tiny dots of colour, of their spectral colours. The result is a touching depth, surprising and reconciling in one, tempting the viewer to pause.
