IEPE

At Rosenthaler Platz in Berlin, Iepe (1974-2020) gave rise to a giant painting.

Four people on bicycles poured buckets of paint on the approach roads to the large intersection near a police station and reality began to paint: The vehicles of the continuing traffic drew the colourful trails with their tyres.

The creation of this temporary picture made of water-soluble and environmentally friendly colours was recorded from the roof of one of the neighbouring buildings. Iepe also changed the world with other actions on the edge of legality, such as road closures in Tokyo or the invention of chess boxing, which is now practised worldwide.
