In Secret Paper, a security form serves as a template for a graphic translation. It is densely printed with numbers and letters to make information illegible and protect confidential content.
Katja Kottmann uses fine lines to translate the complex code into a visual form that oscillates between structure and encryption, eludes legibility and at the same time refers to its origin.
Thus, what is actually invisible becomes visible and the official becomes poetic. In the format of an A4 sheet of paper, the work refers to the everyday materiality of bureaucratic documents and opens up a space for playful and critical contemplation.
