Maarit Salolainen

Maarit Salolainen‘s works – be they woven pieces, paintings, installations or textile designs – all reflect her intense study of light and how it relates to different materials, surfaces and shapes, often woven structures.

The artist calls her works ‘mirrors of light’. She prepares and provides shapes and structures for the light to form the works itself. This way, while the objects are static, the whole work changes with the everchanging light and the movement of the viewer.
