PALIANYTSIA 2022

PALIANYTSIA – Support for Ukraine
With your donation, this work can be purchased to support Ukraine in its defence against the Russian invasion.
PALIANYTSIA 2022 is a humanitarian art project by artist Zhanna Kadyrova (born 1983 in Brovary, Ukraine), which she created together with Denys Ruban. All proceeds will go to Ukrainian soldiers and artists currently serving in the military, as well as to other humanitarian causes. After the Russian full-scale invasion on 24 February 2022, both artists settled in the mountains and created a series of objects made of river stones in the shape of a palianytsia – a traditional Ukrainian bread. During the war, this word took on an additional symbolic meaning, as it was used to distinguish friend from foe at checkpoints.
Works from the PALIANYTSIA 2022 series were shown at the 59th Venice Biennale and many other exhibitions, for example at the Kunstverein Hannover, and are in numerous renowned private and public collections, such as the collection of the German Bundestag, Berlin, the Museum Ludwig, Cologne, Museum Voorlinden, Wassenaar (NL) and the Helsinki Art Museum, Helsinki (FI).
Further information can be found at: www.kadyrova.com.
The price is based on the weight (1 gr = 1 €). All the money raised through your help will be invested in PALIANYTSIA. The work received from the artist in return will become part of the Soest Conceptual Art Foundation’s collection – not the private Schroth Collection.
