Anne Blanchet + James Howell

Space, light and the limits of visibility are common interests and characteristics of the works of these two artists, that also share a long-standing personal friendship.

Anne Blanchet’s translucent colourless acrylic glass pieces, capture, guide, reflect and rendered light resulting in the emergence of descriptive shadow’s, which suggest a three-dimensionality.

James Howells acrylic paintings on canvas confront the viewer with subtle grey gradations that imply a shifting light-plane, leaving the viewer to consider: Illusion or Reality?
